Southend West Association newsletter: Edition 2-2020

I hope you are keeping well and making the most of our British Summer weather!

Welcome to our Summer Newsletter. We are aiming to publish a quarterly newsletter to all SWCA members to keep you up-to-date with news from your Association and future events. The March newsletter will always be sent by post and the remaining three quarters by email to keep postage costs down. If however, you would prefer the newsletter by post, please let Jackie know and we will post it to you. If you did not confirm your personal details after the last newsletter, please complete the form on the back page so that we can ensure we have all your contact details correctly recorded.

The Officers have been busy drafting a strategy document for SWCA. This document sets out our plans for the year ahead with objectives, goals and expectations covering Campaigning; Members & Supporters; Finance; and Organisation & Administration. This will be presented to the Executive Council early July with a plan to make available to all the members later in the month. If you would like to receive a copy, please let Jackie know.

I am pleased to report we have completed our regular review to ensure all health & safety, food preparation, fire and insurance requirements are satisfied. Indeed, two  officers and Jackie now hold food hygiene certificates. We are also just upgrading the hall hot water hand washing facilities.

Next month we are arranging a deep clean of Iveagh Hall and a return to the office for Jackie. As the lockdown is eased my officers are working on bringing the Association out of hibernation and getting our activities back on track including a return to campaigning and fund raising events.  The May 2021 Local Elections will come round very quickly!

See you soon, Kevin
